There is a huge deficit of skilled manpower in our country. As per some estimates, the percentage of total skilled workforce in India is not even 10%, as compared to 60-90% in developed countries... Census of India 2011 pegged the number of PwDs at 2.68 crores. PwDs are one of the most neglected, poorest, least educated, and socially excluded. SCPwD targets skill development of PwDs as per industry needs which can help them to be gainfully employed and contribute to India’s growing economy.
